MassPay, Inc. Believes Family Businesses Are Key to State’s Long-Term Success
Boston, Mass. – MassPay, Inc. announced today its sponsorship of the Family Business Association (FBA), an organization created to promote the development of successful business practices within family businesses, as well as to highlight their achievements. With family businesses generating 49% of GDP in the United States, MassPay believes helping their success in the state is the key to a booming economy.
“I think supporting the FBA is another way for our company to be involved with the community and show appreciation toward the state that has welcomed our business and given my family a home,” said Jason Maxwell, Founder and President of MassPay, Inc. “Because of my strong ties to Massachusetts, I try to promote movements that aim to improve the state’s economy; the FBA and its continued support of family businesses is in my opinion an effective means to that end.”
MassPay was founded in August of 2004 to offer small business owners an alternative to large, multi-national payroll companies without sacrificing any of the benefits such firms provide. To attain this goal, it has grown to partner with companies to provide Workers Compensation, Property & Casualty Insurance, Human Resources Services, and Time and Attendance. The company stays involved with the community as much as possible; examples of this are how closely it works with the yearly North Shore Cancer Walk, as well as teaming with its restaurant clients to organize “Fed Up With Cancer,” an event that raises money for cancer research.
“Companies like MassPay are on the front lines servicing family businesses,” said Ed Tarlow, Executive Director of the FBA. “MassPay is tuned in to the issues that family businesses experience and we are excited to have it as an FBA representative in the field.”
The FBA will provide educational and networking opportunities for family business owners and employees throughout the year on multiple topics affecting business. The most anticipated of these events is the 2011 FBA Awards for Massachusetts, the only independent and statewide awards program to highlight family businesses in the state. The event will celebrate the success of the businesses that Tarlow says “power Massachusetts’ economic engine.”
