QUEST Instructions for Massachusetts Employers

As of December 7, 2009, The Department of Labor and Workforce Development is requiring all companies to conduct all state unemployment tax deposits and filings online through the State of Massachusetts' Website. This new tax system is called "QUEST". Every business must take steps to activate their QUEST account.

Step One: Receive a document via first class mail from The Department of Labor and Workforce Development that introduces QUEST and includes a temporary password.

Step Two: Activate Your Account with QUEST (you will need your temporary password and DUA account number to complete this). Click here for instructions.

Step Three: Receive a document via first class mail from The Department of Labor and Workforce Development that provides you with a permanent login ID and another temporary password.

Step Four: Designate MassPay to submit payments and filings to Department of Labor and Workforce Development. Click here for details.

Upon completion of Step Four, you will be complete this requirement for all Massachusetts employers.
